PRIOR’s participant Microsoft Company and “Network of Creative Teachers” portal summed up the results of joint internet-project “Forgotten Monument of Unforgotten War”. The project devoted to 65^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War has been conducted under support of Interregional Public Organization “Association of Teachers of History”, State Public Historical Library of Russia, Educational Centre “Holocaust”, and British Council in Russia from December 2009 to May 2010.

Within the framework of the project a group of schoolchildren guided by teachers were searching for and reconstructing forgotten and destroyed monuments of the Patriotic War and reported on it in their creative works.  Pupils could choose as monument any object – building, document, a monument of literature and architecture – which had historical and cultural value and had to do with 1941-1945 events.

The project not only provided for strengthening intergenerational continuity but also helped schoolchildren to develop their IT-skills necessary to all citizens of contemporary society.  One of necessary conditions of participation in the project was creation of video sequence of the chosen monument using Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Photo Story /Movie Maker or other same software.
