Ministry of Communications of the RF jointly with PRIOR’s partner Microsoft Company and with assistance of ITAR-TASS information agency announced launch of online-project "Chronicle of Victory: 1941-1945". By the 65^th anniversary of the Victory Russian citizens will be able to familiarize themselves with unique archive materials at www.pobeda-info.ru.

Documents, photos, audio and video materials and military-historical essays, as well as other archive documents of the Great Patriotic War will be available to the Internet users permanently starting May 6, 2010.  

All digitized materials are presented in high resolution. Search system implemented on the portal allows performing search by any word or group of words with possible escalation to different criteria.  Owing to the latest technologies users can easily work with digitized materials and documents and format in convenient interface.

Work on the portal was international and united dozens of specialists: archivists, historians, cartographers and film experts.

Implementation of the project became possible owing to support from "Kirill and Methodius" e-publishing house and "Svyataya Gora" publishing house. Creation of the portal was participated by: State Archive of RF, Russian State Archive of Video and Photo Documents, Russian State Archive of photodocuments; materials of the National Archive of America (NARA), Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense o RF, Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts were used.
