On April 29, 2010 the IV International Conference "Education in XXI century. Transformation of Education in the Information Society" organized by PRIOR’s partner Microsoft took place. The event was attended by more than 300 people, including representatives of regional authorities in the sphere of education, heads of higher educational institutions and school principals, IT specialists, teachers, representatives of expert society and Microsoft partners.

The conference was held in order to discuss the main trends of education development in Russia and in the world, to demonstrate new Microsoft products as informatization tools in educational process, to solve actual problems of contemporary educational systems.   

Alexander Asmolov, Director of the Federal Institute of Education Development of the Ministry of Education and Science of the RF, Alexander Uvarov, leading researcher of the Computer Centre of the RAS, Nikolay Pryanishnikov, President of Microsoft in Russia, acted as experts. Within the framework of the round table of FIED a book "Russian School and New Information Technologies: a Glance to the Upcoming Decade" was presented, summarizing experience of informatization projects and proposing specific steps for transformation of native school.
